Trip II update. With the record Steelhead run this year we thought we should go fishing one more time. You never know when this will happen again.

I fished harder this trip and netted 7 steelhead and Slayer hooked up 3 and lost one whilst trying to corral him with her trout net. We thought it was a good catch so we added him to her count.

I have never seen steelhead fishing like this so, I will post our total for two trips which equals about 3 days. We are done for the year so im not worried about jinxing myself......... We caught 18 frigg'n steelies!

Thanks J man, hope I don't come off as a big fish hog. We didn't put the time in or much technical thought into our trips other than I wanted my G/F to have a new experience in flyfishing. We more or less stumbled into it as I guess all the hours spent flogging water for steelhead years ago paid off.

I have learned much tying trout flies for my G/F over the years also selecting water we fish. The steelhead runs we fished were shallow roller riffles with subtle little slots and seams not noticeable to me at first glance. Places I probably wouldn't have fished on my own.

I was given a couple prototype flies to try on steelhead from someone I admire as one of the best. I inspected them and thought how cool it would be to post a photo with one hanging in a fish. I laid them on my tying base and forgot to put them in my flybox. They didn't make the trip to get wet.

No, you come off as a lucky SOB! congratulations, man, I'm glad paying your dues has paid off. Sorry to hear you left those flies at home, but you certainly have proof you didn't need them!
I'd love to get together with you and your lady, and me with mine some time next year for a fishing trip. Becky wants to meet other lady fly casters, I think, and it might help improve her game to fish with another female with more experience than she.

I'm going to start promoting the site a bit more, it has been a tad slow around here since I got a day job and can't spend all day playing on the internet.

Great Pics as always Allan..Be heading out myself tonight for what I hope will be a good day of steelie action tomorrow! Been a good year so far and cant seem to get enough of it in to satisfy this addiction to steel.

Film?....So far I havent found an interest for it or a camcorder. I noticed the new Cannon DSLR I am interested in has movie capability so, when i do upgrade i will probably want to give it a try.

Wonder how Dave is doing steelhead fishing? If its clear and colder than here right now it could be difficult conditions.
