I've become a huge mixed martial arts fan over the last 6 months. I used to watch it back in the infancy of the UFC, and then I stopped paying attention for many years. The girlfriend, who I never thought would like this stuff, not in a million years, and I have been hunting down all of the events from past years and watching them. I was really pleased to see it has become an international sensation, and the level of talent has gone through the roof. Does anybody else like to watch people beat each other up?

Also, if you've never seen Fedor Emelianenko fight, then you're missing out. He's not in the UFC so a lot of people in the states don't know about him. I've watched all of his fights, and most of the fights of the other greats in the sport right now. I can say, without reservation, he is the top heavyweight, if not the top pound-for-pound fighter, in the world. Truly a spectacle to behold.
I'm not a tough-guy, I don't like to fight, never have...but it is an amazing sport. I think boxing has lost a lot of its draw because of it, and that's OK because I don't think boxing is that great anyway. Your thoughts, whether you love it or hate it, are welcome.

My wife and I used to watch it a lot. I would always give her crap and say she should try it out (she has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu). But recently with this lame travel thing I have been doing I have not really watched it that much.

Well well, you just tell her she can put me in an oma plata any time!

She has told me many times, but for the life of me I can't f'n remember (getting old sucks ). I do remember that it was in the L.A. area I just don't remember the name. I will ask her when I talk to her tomorrow. Man it sucks being down here in frickin Utah

My gf won't dominate me, she said I'd have to hire someone to do it, does M do contract work?

Is it Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or traditional?
How long did she train for that?
I'm interested in studying BJJ, and if I ever get a purple belt, I'll be thrilled.

Traditonal....... I will just say she has pics from some of her competitions when she was 10 (but she started younger).
